Currently tinkering at something new.Rajiv was the CEO and Co-Founder of Second Spectrum.A venture-backed startup that used computer vision and machine learning to automate next-generation data collection in sports.This included real-time pose-recognition and activity recognition.We also created data analytics, video analysis and video augmentation software for teams, leagues and media.Second Spectrum was acquired by Genius Sports (NYSE:GENI) in 2021 for $200M.Highlights included being Official Optical Tracking Provider and Analytics Partner of:National Basketball Association (NBA), WNBA, G-League, FIBA, NCAA March Madness.English Premier League (EPL), Major League Soccer (MLS), Danish Superliga, UEFA.All 30 NBA teams depend regularly on our data analytics and video platform.Media highlights included:Emmy Award with Amazon for NFL Prime Vision.Emmy Award with CBS for NFL RomoVision.Emmy Nomination with ESPN for NBA Marvel Arena of Heroes.Clippers CourtVision (SBJ Best in Sports Technology, NBA Team Innovation Award)TED Talk, “The Math Behind Basketball’s Wildest Moves”Prior to Second Spectrum, Rajiv was a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Southern California’s Department of Computer Science.Highlights included:100 publications in artificial intelligence, control theory, data visualization, decision theory and game theory.Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Illinois Electrical & Computer Engineering department.USC Viterbi School of Engineering Use-Inspired Research Award.Two-time winner of the Alpha Award for Best Research Paper at the MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference.Rajiv received a B.S. degree in Applied Mathematics, Engineering and Physics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and received M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
